Reuse and recycling credits are paid to third parties that remove items from the municipal waste stream for reuse or recycling that would otherwise have been sent for disposal at the Authority’s expense. The value of the credit recognises the saving to the Authority made by this reuse and recycling activity.
Organisations wishing to claim credits must first complete an application form to apply to be registered to receive credits, and then following registration, must submit a quarterly claim for payment and provide evidence of the tonnage recycled or reused.
Registrations for 2008/9 are now closed. Applications for registration for 2009/10 must be submitted by 14th December 2008.
We all love our electronic gadgets – a new games console, hair straighteners, latest espresso maker, but what do you do with all of the old stuff?
Put it in the bin? NO!
Recycle it? YES
